Course Overview
The Texas Cosmetology and Barber 4 Hour course is a TDLR-approved continuing education course that satisfies the full renewal requirement for Texas cosmetology and barber license holders (16 TAC §83.25). It delivers all four required hours in one place: 1 hour of sanitation, 1 hour of human trafficking prevention, and 2 hours of approved elective topics — chemical safety and client protection, and Texas law and rules.
Each lesson is viewed in full before the next one opens, and every lesson is completed before your certificate is issued. The course provides at least 50 minutes of instruction for each CE hour, and you move through it at your own pace. Lesson 2 includes the “Be The One” human trafficking awareness video.

Texas cosmetology license holders are required to complete 4 hours of TDLR-approved continuing education every 2 years, before each license renewal. If you have held your license 15 or more years, you only need 2 hours. Our course covers all 4 hours in a single online course.
